I grew up on a small family farm with three brothers and teacher parents who taught me that animals get fed first, everyone deserves an education, and if you make a commitment, you keep it no matter what. These values have shaped how I approach leadership—with authenticity, respect, and zero tolerance for BS.

My time at Scottish Power and NWPPA opened my eyes to how different utility culture is from corporate boardrooms. I saw firsthand how traditional leadership programs fails people who do real work with real consequences. That's why I created EMDLearning—to offer leadership development programs that honor the experience and expertise of people in high-stakes professions.

We meet you exactly where you are, with absolute authenticity and zero judgment. Our programs don't impose leadership theories from people who've never faced genuine workplace danger. Instead, we create genuine connections through active listening, real experiences, and open dialogue. We honor the experiences and histories of those who do heavy work as valuable assets, not obstacles to overcome. By helping them reflect on how they've been led and how they've led others, we guide them to define and embrace the leadership skills they need.
